The largest official CIO community of Russia Global CIO named winners in the field of information technology "Project of the Year 2013". A project based on Microsoft Dynamics for Retail for company ECCO Russia was recognized as the best in the nomination "Retail and Distribution". This project was implemented in partnership with GMCS, a member of MAYKOR.

Competition "Project of the Year" was held by the official Internet portal Global CIO with the support of professional associations SoDIT, APKIT, RUSSOFT, Raspo and Skolkovo innovation center from September 2013 to January 2014.

All nominated projects are assessed directly by CIOs through the Internet voting system with the method proposed by IT community portal. The community took into account such criteria as scale, importance to the organization, technological complexity and significance of the project for development of the IT industry. The competition committee received more than 250 projects in Russia and the CIS countries. Only 133 of them were allowed to participate in the vote. The project to create a unified automated management system for ECCO Russia after the vote was considered as the best in the category "Retail and Distribution". The implementation result was a unified solution for automated management of front-and back-office processes of the retail network that includes more than 200 stores in Russia and CIS countries. Development of solutions based on the first launch in Russia of business application Microsoft Dynamics for Retail on a POS-terminal. ERP-system allowed to solve such key tasks as ensuring reliable operation of a fast growing network, cost reduction to open new stores, support of transition to a new loyalty program and ensuring its integration with marketing campaigns, as well as improving quality of customer service and efficiency of its own personnel.

The flexible business solution based on Microsoft Dynamics for Retail, implemented jointly with GMCS, fully corresponded to the business needs of ECCO Russia and contained the necessary tools to solve the problems mentioned above. In 2013, the new unified information management system was implemented in a substantial part of ECCO stores in Moscow and other cities. Today, the process of replication is about to end. A more detailed description of the project can be found on the official website of Global CIO.

The competition caused the great interest in IT community, as evidence is the large number of interesting projects declared to participate. In the category "Retail and Distribution", in addition to project ECCO were presented projects of X5 Retail Group, Leroy Merlin, Lenta, Wikimart, Kari, Raduga. Each of them was estimated by members of the professional IT community that, in my opinion, allowed us to receive an impartial assessment.

Indeed, the colleagues from other companies are the most objective critics and best understand complexity and importance of each project. According to CIOs, It was choice of the really best solutions on thematic, sectoral and regional issues," said project manager Sergey Prokhorov, CIO ECCO in Russia.

"We are pleased that the project, implemented with participation of our company was praised among the IT community, because it is unique in terms of functional coverage.
