With a strong position in its market segment and thousands of employees, MAYKOR is able to influence the social and ecological environment in the country. To this end, one of the key factors that guides our activity is on-going sustainable development of both the company and the environment we operate in.
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a key focus area for the company and we develop internal and external social programs to support it. The formation and implementation of these programs aim to combine best international practices with local Russian experience and services specific to our business.
As part of MAYKOR’s focus on developing and maintaining talent, which forms the backbone of our business, we have launched several social programs to support this.
The Engineering Profession
The Engineering Profession program is aimed at addressing the shortage of IT personnel by raising the prestige of technical professions. On the one hand, the program encourages staff development, professional pride, increased loyalty to the company and involvement in the business. On the other hand, the program also raises the general awareness of the importance and significance of labor in the country, promote technical professions among young people and attract talent to the company. Partnerships with universities and colleges is one of the fundamental steps MAYKOR has taken to create a reserve pool of personnel resources. The objectives of these partnerships are to improve the skills and education of young people in the IT field and to further develop future professionals in the outsourcing industry.
Corporate volunteering
A significant part of MAYKOR’s corporate culture is the development of volunteerism among employees. The company has two volunteering initiatives covering various social groups: "A Caring Future with MAYKOR", in which the company and its employees support several regional orphanages; and "Labor for Labor", which provides support for Penza Production Association "Voskhod (Sunshine)" at the All-Russia Society for the Blind. MAYKOR also participates in 2-3 volunteering projects per year at the federal level. At the regional level, MAYKOR’s branches address social challenges in their local communities, undertaking up to 10 projects a year.
Charity in Lieu of Souvenirs
MAYKOR has been involved in the "Charity in Lieu of Souvenirs" project since 2010, donating its souvenir budgets every year to support talent and skill development programs for youths and adults with disabilities. Through these programs, the disabled get the help they need to find their place in society and enter the workforce.
Healthy Back
In 2014 a new social program "Healthy Back" was launched. Human resource is the main asset for a company engaged in the provision of services. Therefore, an important part of MAYKOR’s social policy is attention to our employees’ and their families’ health, and development of a physical fitness culture in the society in general. The objective of this program is to promote a healthy lifestyle and sports participation, and prevention of musculoskeletal system disorders. As part of this program MAYKOR supports sporting events sponsored by the Russian Swimming Federation and the Russian Dance Union.
The company has produced and presented the following regulatory CSR documents: “Environmental and Social Policy”, "Policies for Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)", "Corporate Code of Conduct”. Since 2014, MAYKOR’s annual results for CSR development have been summarized in its Social Report.
