GMCS and RAO Energy System of East held a business breakfast about billing system for energy companies

On the 14th of February, 2014 GMCS and RAO Energy System of East held a business breakfast on the project of creating the intellectual billing system based on product MECOMSTM in RAO Energy System of East.

Among the participants of the business breakfast were representatives of such energy companies as Russian grids, Federal Grid Company, INTER RAO, IES-Holding, Lenenergo, Permenergosbyt, etc.

The event included performance of Ilya Lishansky, deputy director general for energy sales of RAO Energy System of East, Natalia Alexandrova, director of power supply JSC Kamchatskenergo, as well as Yevgeny Babenko, CIO of RAO Energy System of East of East. They shared their experiences in implementing the billing system based on the platform MECOMSTM, which would ensure a high level of customer service of the Far Eastern Federal District in settlements for heat and electricity. At present, the implementation of billing system for JSC Kamchatskenergo, a subsidiary of RAO Energy System of East of East is completing. Also, a new billing system is being implemented in another subsidiary - Magadanenergo.

The final goal of the project is transition to a unified system for all kinds of settlements that will allow RAO Energy System of East to conduct an analysis of all transactions and balances of customers in the one system for all types of services; be more responsive to the market needs, in particular, expand a list of services and approaches to tariff classification, as well as conduct online monitoring of data reliability. In addition, it is expected to create a unified communication environment of customers’ information services. Kamchatskenergo has already got a web-portal with personal cabinet of energy usage, which is of interest not only to individuals and legal entities, but also management companies.

GMCS was represented by Oleg Lysov, vice-president, and Sergey Zavelishko, project manager, who talked about the approaches to implementation of the billing system. During the live discussion were looked upon the most pressing issues related to the implementation of such projects: from purchase of licenses, the project methodology and team to replication of solution and creation of its own competence center.

In addition, the event was attended by specialists from the Russian divisions of Microsoft.
