Swim camp for Russian and Hungarian youth in St. Petersburg
From May 3-23, 2015, St. Petersburg Sports Complex Swimming Center is hosting a joint training camp for young swimmers (11-13 years old) from Hungary and St. Petersburg. This project was initiated by swimming federation presidents Vladimir Salnikov and Tamas Gyarfas in cooperation with the Russian Swimming Federation and Hungarian Swimming Federation.

The event is held with the support of MAYKOR, an IT outsourcing company, whose corporate social program includes a number of sporting initiatives in partnership with the Russian Swimming Federation.

The organizers of the event are the Russian Swimming Federation and the Committee on Physical Culture and Sports of St. Petersburg. The joint training is being held at Ekran Sports School, with event assistance provided by Youth Sports School No 3 and Kalinin District Administration.

"We remember Zoltan Verraszto and Sandor Wlador – famous Hungarian swimmers, world leaders in swimming – we trained together. It certainly contributed to our success," stated Viktor Kuznetsov, two-time silver medalist at the XXII Olympic Games, Director of Ekran Youth Sports School. "Training techniques in Russia and Hungary are very similar, but it is more interesting and helpful to see this with your own eyes, particularly as we are hosting the best Hungarian athletes and coaches."

The Hungarian delegation consists of 19 athletes and 6 coaches. Bene Vera Ilona is the senior coach of the team. During the camp, joint trainings are planned, as well as participation in the St. Petersburg swimming championship for athletes aged 12-13.
