GMCS seminar "Warehouse inventory management: keep up with the times!" collected over 80 participants
GMCS conducted a seminar "Warehouse inventory management: keep up with the times!" with over 80 attendants – representatives of production and distributor companies of Moscow, St. Petersburg and other regions of Russia.

According to opinions of seminars attendants and organizers, such a great interest is due tothe fact that today introduction of information technologies at Russian enterprises, including SME businesses is one of the burning issues for top managers. Besides, the market ofwarehouse services in Russia has been growing with awe-inspiring tempos. One oftendencies to be noted among players of the market is business diversification of traditional manufacturers. While in the past own storage facilities were used only for storing own products, presently companies start to provide safe custody services to other organizations, becoming real logistics operators.

At the Seminar experts and top executives of KPD-Terminal, Belaya Dacha Trading, Tsaritsyno Trading Company, Microsoft, GMCS, Relwest shared their actual experience inintroduction of computer-aided warehouse management. These reports inspired heated discussions among the Seminar’s attendants. Many of them were concerned with RFID technology application, optimization of warehouse operations, and other issues related with modern tendencies in improving efficiency and transparency of warehouse management using computer-aided process systems. The attendants' particular concern was addressed tofunctionality of GMCS Cargo Terminal industry-specific solution presented at this event.

In February 2006 GMCS’ Cargo Terminal solution was recognized a winner in "2006' Best Warehouse Management Solution in ERP system" nomination at the Pan-Russian Contest for Information Solutions in Logistics. GMCS' Cargo Terminal solution covers the whole range of logistics operations including warehouses service billing. Besides accounting tasks common for such systems, integration with proximity identification systems (bar codes, RFID) was implemented.

We thank the Seminar's information partners for assistance provided to GMCS in the event organization: LOGISTIC&sistema, Myaso.com, Warehouse technologies, Sklad&Tekhnika, Finansovaya Gazeta newspaper, LogLink.ru.
