Lafarge entrusted its HR system to GMCS
GMCS and the Russian representative office of Lafarge, one of the largest manufacturers of construction materials in the world, concluded a contract for comprehensive technical support of the Lafarge automated human resource management system based on BOSS-Kadrovik.

This new project involves full IT outsourcing of the client's HR system, including its administering, development and modification, as well as user support. According to the terms of the contract GMCS carries out support of the human resource management information system in three locations: the Lafarge head office in Moscow and two of the company's plants – Voskresensktsement in the Moscow Region and Uraltsement in the Chelyabinsk Region.

The GMCS team of consultants established to solve various tasks under this project is currently conducting online processing of user requests, monitoring of the system's functioning in order to prevent possible critical situations in its operation. Apart from supporting the HR system GMCS is also responsible for administering the Oracle Database platform on which it is based. Additionally as part of the project according to existing Lafarge corporate rules GMCS completed delimitation of rights for HR system users based on their functions and powers. This comprehensive approach allows to guarantee quality and fail-safe operation of the Lafarge HR system.

Lafarge plans to transfer its remaining subsidiaries in Russia to payroll calculation and human resource management actions in BOSS-Kadrovik, by unifying HR processes in a single information space. Thus, full scale support of the automated human resource management system at Lafarge shall become the responsibility of GMCS.

"Transferring the HR system that we have been using for several years already to IT outsourcing has allowed us to cut non-core costs and concentrate on the main lines of activities, as well as raise the level of security of confidential data," comments Mikhail Platonov, Lafarge IT Director in Russia.

"In our experience IT outsourcing is one of the best forms of supporting HR system performance in large distributed companies. The project at Lafarge is a good example of the efficiency of such cooperation," notes Oleg Kotov, Head of the Department of Automated Human Resource Management Systems at GMCS. "To solve the project's goals we use our own unique developments in HR system technical support in holding companies."
