MAYKOR is a major service provider for retailers in Russia
MAYKOR, a national-scale group in the IT and utility systems service and outsourcing market, is the major service provider for retailers in Russia according to the results of 2012. The preliminarily estimated consolidated revenue from MAYKOR retail projects is over 4 bln rubles. Experts of the group say that clients are attracted mainly by its own nationwide service network and an innovative service line.

MAYKOR achieved a three-fold increase of large and medium-scale clients in 2012: from 350 companies at the beginning of the year to over 1,000 at the end of 2012. Retailers appeared to be key customers (including all types of retail business – from food to fuels, e.g. gas stations). According to MAYKOR analysts, its retail revenue share increased by 40% and made up around 50% of group’s income. MAYKOR clients include large and medium-scale businesses: X5 Retail Group, Accessorise, O’STIN, Sportmaster, MTS mobile shops, Megafon, Beeline, Svyaznoy, OBI, Metro, SPAR, Uyuterra, Gloria Jeans, Rigla network of pharmacies, Railways Trade Company (subsidiary of Russian Railways), TentrObuv’, Accessorize, Rive Gauche, Matryoshka, Citilink, Polushka, Gazpromneft gas stations, Lukoil gas stations, Rosneft gas stations, TNK-BP gas stations, Statoil Energy & Retail Russia gas stations, NESTE OIL gas stations, VIS-SERVICE gas stations and others. Projects with nation-wide retailers such as ECCO, Doctor Stoletov, Incity and others were launched in 2013.

According to company’s analysts, a high demand for MAYKOR services from retail businesses is conditioned by both demand development trends and a highly efficient strategy of providing outsourcing services for retailers followed by MAYKOR since 2011.

Retail companies operated on the highly competitive market require ongoing business process optimization and state-of-the-art technology, primarily in the outsourcing of non-core activities. Currently, a largest consumer of technical services is the retail sector which is formed mainly by major geographically-distributed companies. Clients need a wide range of services from IT infrastructure maintenance to industry-specific equipment (cash, weighing, fuel equipment, etc.) and utility systems (conditioners, security and fire alarms, video surveillance, etc) with a maximum geographic coverage from a single contractor providing a single and rigidly formulated guaranteed SLA. This is the service format developed and offered by MAYKOR. “MAYKOR service network in Russia includes 83 branches and 400 service units with over 3,000 in-house specialists which allows provision of comprehensive IT outsourcing services on the one-stop basis covering the entire territory of Russia”, says Sergey Sulgin, President of MAYKOR group of companies.

In 2012, MAYKOR made significant investments in the development of competencies and resource base both as an organic growth (expansion of its own center of competencies, providing new services, service network development, etc.) and through acquisition of major service companies in RF regions (Autotank-Service, Infoservice, etc.). A successful strategy in IT outsourcing and services for various companies ensured the 1 rank for MAYKOR in the CNews Analytics’ Largest IT providers for Retail Business rating in terms of revenue from service projects for retailers over 2012.
