Rosinter Restaurants implemented a new bi system based on Qlik Sense in just 1,5 months
Rosinter Restaurants Holding (Rosinter, Rosinter Restaurants) is the leading casual dining chain operator in Russia and the CIS (MICEX and RTS (moex.com) under the stock ticker ROST). Rosinter Restaurants launched a business intelligence system based on Qlik Sense. Developed in just 1.5 months thanks to the use of agile methodology, BI system allows online monitoring and analyzing the business situation of restaurants on the main financial and operational indicators. The system was deployed with the support of the Russian IT company MAYKOR-GMCS.

The system provides a daily analysis of checks from more than 260 Rosinter restaurants located in Russia, the CIS and Central Europe. With the help of dashboards, management board monitors the key performance indicators at the restaurant, region and brand levels in the real time - revenue, margins, number of transactions, cost of a dish, average check, turnover and other indicators. Monitoring can be carried out over several years, months, and detailed up to a day, and for check analytics - up to an hour, which allows you to quickly make decisions for a particular restaurant, for example, to increase the number of employees and products for the restaurant in the rush hours.

"The new BI system satisfies the basic needs for obtaining up-to-date information about the current situation of the restaurant chain. This is not only a fast but also accessible analytics that can be trusted in making decisions," commentes Alexey Shorokhov, CFO of Rosinter Restaurants Holding. "In addition, the system is interactive, allows you to experiment with different instruments and find interesting, but not obvious, at first glance, links between indicators."

The BI system accumulates the data received from several accounting systems and systematizes them according to the required indicators. In the future, it will become a single information center for data analysis and decision-making for all departments of Rosinter that use business analytics, from the restaurant to the top management.

Implementation of Qlik Sense changed the approach to analytics. The key users received the broad tools for data visualizing and studying. The system was adapted for mobile devices, which gave an opportunity for the operational management of both corporate and franchise restaurants to use a smartphone or a tablet.

"Using agile methodology allowed to accelerate the implementation of the necessary business system. Just a few weeks after the start of work, we had in our hands an understandable model of the system architecture to implement all the necessary requirements in the future," says Sergei Prokhorov, CIO of Rosinter Restaurants Holding. "As part of the franchise development, we plan to provide business analytics as a service to our partners. Qlik Sense is suitable for this purpose. "

In the future, Rosinter Restaurants plans to develop the BI system in several areas: marketing and HR analytics, loyalty program "Honorary Guest", etc. This will give the company an understanding of new promising lines of business development, as well as ways to increase profits and improve quality service.

"The implementation of the project with Rosinter Restaurants became a kind of challenge for our team, since the task was to create an integrated data model in the shortest possible time and integrate it with existing sources of information. We approached the process creatively, while considering the specifics of HORECA. The choice of the product was correct.
